Branford Center Cemetery

Welcome to Branford’s Historic Center Cemetery. The cemetery was established in 1645 by English settlers. It is part of Branford’s Center historic district and located on Montowese Street. The Branford Center Cemetery is Branford’s first burial grounds. It is a secular cemetery and open to all Branford Residences. A walk-through the cemetery reveals much of Branford’ s rich history from pre-revolutionary days to the present. It includes, generations of Branford families, religion, and military. The cemetery’s beauty can be found in the flowers and trees that adorn the grounds as well as the stunning views overlooking the Branford River.

The cemetery is managed by a volunteer board of trustees. There are gravesites as well as cremation sites available. Phone, come for a visit or send us an email for any inquires.
